* Prayer or Relief Sought It is quite obvious that the matter concerns the mismanagement and anarchy in the working of the concerned public staff which is the root-cause of this appeal is made before the first appellate authority working in the office of the commissioner Meerut. Registration Number COMRT/R/2023/60065 Name Yogi M P Singh Date of Filing 23/08/2023 Status RTI REQUEST RECEIVED as on 23/08/2023 Nodal Officer Details Name SAHASTRA PAL SINGH Telephone Number 8006213198 Email-ID commmrt@gmail.com From this status of the R.T.I. application, it is quite obvious that the appellant submitted this RTI application on 23rd August 2023 and it is 30th September 2023 which means one month and one week passed but no action taken by commissioner Meerut in the matter which is mockery of the provisions of right to information act 2005. It was obligatory duty of the Commissioner Meerut to transfer the RTI application to the concerned public authority under subsection 3 of section 6 of the right to information act 2005 if this RTI application was not closely connected with the working of the commissioner Meerut. Here this question arises that why is commissioner Meerut a stumbling block in seeking information by the information seekers which is quite obvious from his cryptic and mysterious working style? Right to information act 2005 was introduced by the government of India to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the public authorities working under the government but it is most unfortunate that a commissioner rank officer is not apprised of the provisions of the right to information act 2005 even after the implementation of 17 years. Undoubtedly it reflects the incompetence of the public staff who are handling the R.T.I. application in the office of Commissionerate of Meerut. Our prime minister Mr Narendra Damodar Das Modi and our chief minister Mr Yogi Adityanath advocate of good governance in the state but how can a governance be good governance if there is no transparency and accountability in the working of the public staff in the public offices? How can a public staff working in the office of commissioner of Meerut be confident by violating the provisions that is subsection three of section 6 and subsection one of section 7 of the right to information act 2005? Undoubtedly it reflects the insolence of the concerned staff working in the office of Commissioner of Meerut to the provisions of the right to information act 2005.
