* Prayer or Relief Sought From the status of the following RTI application the appellant submitted RTI application on 18th January 2024 which was forwarded to the concerned public information officer on 19 January 2024 and it is most unfortunate that the concerned public information officer did not provide any information to the appellant.

Right to Information Act 2005 was introduced by the government of India during the regime of Congress to promote transparency and accountability in the working of public authorities so that growing corruption in the government machinery could be controlled but it seems that corruption has overshadowed the provisions of the information act.

Numerous applications have been submitted under right to information act 2005 to seek information from the Lucknow Development Authority but no information made available by the public information officer by taking the recourse that a committee has been set up by the Lucknow Development Authority and it is most unfortunate near about three years passed since the date of formation of the committee and they are not providing any information to the information seeker in the matter of corruption.

This question arises whether Lucknow Development Authority forms the committee to withhold the information under right to information act 2005 which is quite obvious from the cryptic working style of the public authority.

Think about the fear in the mind of the public information officer that he is not providing any information concerning the committee itself by taking recourse of which he is withholding the information. What type of committee you have formed, you are running away from providing information concerning the committee. Neither public information officer is providing the detail of the personnel who set up the committee nor providing details of the members of the committee.

Undoubtedly there are few honest personnel in the public authority, lucknow development authority but most are corrupt which is the root cause, they are frightened to be exposed if they will provide the information and they are shielding their corrupt staff.

Public Authority advertise its honesty through print and electronic media but when the matter concerns corruption it does not provide information under right to information act 2005.What is the use of such honesty if such honesty may not bring up a change in the society so it is obligatory duty of the honest staff of Lucknow Development Authority to think about some changes which may take place because of their presence in the working of the authority.

I know well that why public information officer is running away from providing information concerned honest staff has been apprised of the fact but it is most unfortunate his proceedings could not press the public information officer to provide information but at this time I will seek shelter in the Uttar Pradesh state information commission just after he will not provide information even after the order of the first affiliate authority.

This is a humble request of the appellant to the first appellate authority to direct the public information officer to provide the information to the appellant. For this appellant shall ever pray to you most respected sir. It has been established that no staff of the Lucknow Development Authority is awarded punishment for the wrongdoings so the appellant cannot request for taking disciplinary action against the public information officer for violating the subsection 1 of section 7 of the right to Information Act 2005.
