* Prayer or Relief Sought From the following status of the rti application submitted by the appellant on the rti portal of the government of Uttar Pradesh, it is quite obvious that the appellant submitted the rti application on 18th February 2024 which was forwarded by nodal officer to the concerned public information officer on 21st February 2024 and it is 21st April 2024 which means two months passed but the concerned public information officer did not provide any information to the appellant and most surprising thing is that he did not deem it fit to make the correspondence regarding the matter that why is he not providing information to the appellant? It is quite obvious that the public information officer categorically violated the subsection one of section 7 of the right to information act 2005 so action must be taken against him as well as he must be firmly directed to provide information to the information seeker because the matter concerns deep rooted corruption in the working of public authority. Think about the gravity of situation the inquiry committee appointed by the competent authority of the Lucknow Development Authority is seeking documents to proceed in the inquiry for more than two years and four communications sent by Dinesh Pratap Singh with all requisite documents necessary for carrying out inquiry into the matter of corruption but all the four communications were put by the concerned accountable staff of the Lucknow Development Authority into the heap of garbage. Whether it is not reflecting the Jungle Raj in the working of the Lucknow Development Authority where corruption is rampant in the working of this public authority. The Right to Information Act 2005 was introduced by the government of India during the regime of Congress to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the public authorities so that growing corruption in the working of the public authorities may be controlled. Currently growing corruption in the government machinery made the edges of the right to information act 2005 blunt which is the root cause of its lacklustre performance.
