* Prayer or Relief Sought From the following status it is quite obvious that the appellant submitted the RTI application on 12th of December 2023 which was forwarded to the concerned public information officer by the nodal officer on 13th December 2023. It is quite obvious that 2 months passed but the concerned public information officer did not provide information to the appellant which is a violation of the subsection 1 of Section 7 of the right to Information Act 2005 which must be taken into account by the first appellate authority in Lucknow development authority.. Right to reason is the indispensable part of the sound administrative system but where is the reason of not entertaining of the application submitted under right to Information Act which had to be entertained by the public information officer as soon as possible if not he had to entertain within stipulated 30 days as prescribed under subsection 1 of Section 7 of the right to Information Act 2005 but it was not done by him.
According to the subsection 1d of Section 4 of the right to Information Act 2005, it shall be obligatory duty of every public authority to provide the reasons of its decisions to the parties concerned but it seems that public authorities even their public information officers have forgot this provision of the right to Information Act 2005 quite obvious from the arbitrary dealings of the public authorities and their public information officers.
It is quite obvious that 19 years have passed since the date when the right to Information Act 2005 was ratified by the Government of India, but it is most unfortunate that public information officers in the country are not entertaining the RTI applications within stipulated time. Under the act. The Right to Information Act 2005 was introduced by the Government of India to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the public authorities but because of rampant corruption in the working of the public authorities this August act could not reap its objectives quite obvious from the manifold increase in corruption and anarchy in the government machinery. This is a humble request of the appellant to the first appellate authority to direct the public information officer to provide information to the appellant at the earliest as well as initiate disciplinary proceedings against the public information officer for violating the subsection one of Section 7 of the right to Information Act 2005.
