It is quite obvious that stipulated 30 days to provide information under subsection 1 of section 7 of the right to information act 2005 has been expired, but concerned public information officer which means assistant commissioner of police Phoolpur did not provide information to the appellant and he has been habitual not to provide any information under right to information act 2005 quite obvious from the consequent of the earlier submitted RTI applications before him.
Sir, how can it be justified for the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Phulpur, Prayagraj not to give such information? Sir, can this way the Right to Information Act 2005 achieve its purpose? Sir, it is known to everybody that the purpose of Right to Information Act, 2005 is to control the rampant corruption in the Government system, but it is also true that corruption has made this Act ineffective.
Sir, the case is related to the negligence of the staff of Police Station Mauaima, due to which the increasing incidents of theft in the area were causing problems to the people for which RTI Act 2005 was used by the Information Seeker, but due to the Assistant. Commissioner of Police, Phulpur, it seems impossible to get the information.
It seems that there is no rule of law in the working of the police in Phoolpur Circle district Prayagraj because of lack of efficient monitoring and the role of responsible officers. At least those personnel employed by the government to maintain law and order must be law abiding otherwise we will be ruled by rule of anarchy quite obvious from the growing incidences of criminal activities in the area.
This is a humble request of the appellant to the first appellate authority to direct the public information officer concerned to provide the information to the information seeker as well as initiate disciplinary proceedings against the public information officer for violating subsection 1 of section 7 of the right to information act 2005.
