The two-day strike on December 16 and 17 was called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). UFBU is an umbrella body of nine unions, including AIBOC, All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW).
Why?The union wants the govt not to table the Bank Privatisation Bill (Banking Laws Amendment Bill, 2021) during this session of the Parliament. The government had in Budget 2021-22 announced its intent to take up privatisation of two public sector banks (PSBs) during the year.
Impact
Most public sector banks will remain closed on Thursday and Friday. Since the following two days are weekends, these PSBs will remain shut for transactions for four days in a row. Most of the banks, including State Bank of India (SBI), have already cautioned their customers about the strike's possible impact on banking operations like cheque clearance and fund transfer.

Please provide the INFORMATION regarding the staffs of the branch who were paid salary and who were not paid because they went on strike.
Provide the details of staffs at the branch office Mirzapur went on strike voluntarily and also those were coerced to go on strike.
Your reply as -The branch was closed due to nationwide strike of Bank on 16th and 17th of December 2021. No question of permission is involved in it. and All the staffs were on strike.
It is most unfortunate that you did not provide the details of the staff as sought by the applicant.
You ought to provide the copy of the competent authority who advised the deduction of the salary of the strikers. In wide public interest, such landmark decisions must be in the public domain.

Undoubtedly in this largest democracy in the world print and electronic media has been incredible because of rampant corruption in the government machinery. It seems that there is no rule of law in this largest democracy because everything is settled through strikes because our reluctant government functionaries are not interested to resolve the problems of the people.
ReplyDeleteIf they are running away from providing the detail regarding the deduction of the salary it means nothing was deducted from the salary because of the illegal strike.
