* Prayer or Relief Sought It is quite obvious that the appellant submitted the RTI application on 9th August 2024 which was forwarded to the other public authority on 12th August 2024 and the Public information officer finally forwarded the matter to the principal of autonomous State medical College Mirzapur, but the information has not been provided by the principal of state medical college yet.
It is obligatory duty of the concerned Public information officer to collect the information from the concerned staff and upload it to the RTI portal of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, but it has not been done within a stipulated time as prescribed under sub section 1 of section 7 of The Right to information act 2005.
Right information act 2005 was introduced by the government of India to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the public authorities so that growing corruption in the government machinery must be controlled. This matter also concerns the serious allegations of corruption in the working of the public authority but concerned Public information officer is procrastinating on the matter.
The first appellate authority must take action against Public information officers for violating the provisions of The Right to information act 2005 and direct him to provide information to the information seeker at the earliest.
